New Orleans Nightcrawlers

The New Orleans Nightcrawlers is a brass band like no other. It began innocently enough in 1994 as a writer’s workshop founded by pianist Tom McDermott, sousaphonist Matt Perrine and trumpeter Kevin Clark. After 17 years peppered with dozens of international festival performance and 4 records, the New Orleans Nightcrawlers continue to dazzle audiences at home and abroad .As sidemen in other projects, the list of musicians they’ve individually supported is staggering. Their combined resumes include: Harry Connick Jr., Dr. John, Clint Black, Galactic, the Neville Brothers, George Porter Jr., The Band, the Radiators, Gatemouth Brown, Aretha Franklin and Quintology… among many, many others.

"Boasting impressive original compositions and arrangements, imaginative improvisers, precise ensemble playing and a contagious joie de vivre all their own, the Nightcrawlers quickly established themselves as a popular addition to the city’s extensive menu of memorable musical offerings. … Put on your honky-tonk clothes and your favorite dancing shoes and get ready to kick ‘em up high. This is what brass band music is all about." – John Sinclair, New Orleans, 2000
